4 Reasons to Get Excited About the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica

1. Offers Maximum Versatility

Need room for up to eight passengers? The Pacifica can handle that. Need to haul large, bulky items? The Pacifica can handle that, too. Thanks to stow-and-go functionality, the second row captain’s seats are collapsible and fold down into the floor. Meanwhile, the back bench can do a 60/40 split to accommodate items that need more space than the 32.3 cubic foot trunk offers. With all seats configured for cargo, this minivan has a maximum cargo capacity that exceeds 140 cubic feet.

2. Takes Family Friendly Features to the Next Level

Parents can rejoice that there are multiple features to make their lives on the road easier. Doors that slide open with the push of a button are a favorite family-friendly feature available with the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica. Moms also appreciate the built-in vacuum system available on the top-of-line Limited trim package.

Kids riding in the rear will love the 10-inch high definition touch screens mounted on the headrests. These screens are the gateway to gaming, movies, and content accessed through phones and tablets. They’re also a part of the Uconnect Theatre feature, which allows playback of Blu-ray discs. This minivan also comes with plenty of bins and storage areas where kids can squirrel away their toys and snacks.

3. Exceeds Expectations for Fuel Economy

While the minivan’s standard engine achieves fuel efficiency that’s standard for minivans, the Pacifica will also be available in a hybrid model, a first for the minivan class. Outfitted with a V6 engine, this version of the minivan uses electric power to cover up to 30 miles, after which it changes over to a gas/electric hybrid system. Chrysler says this hybrid can achieve up to 80 miles per gallon equivalent.

As with other hybrids, the Pacifica recharges its battery when the driver engages the brake or allows the vehicle to coast. However, drivers must plug in the minivan to recharge the battery pack in about two hours.

4. Has a Cool Appearance

It’s not a stretch to say the sleek new dashboard exudes an upscale aesthetic while the exterior is cool and modern. For example, the gear shift is built into an in-dash knob that the driver turns. It’s a much-needed upgrade over the usual shifter stick that comes on minivans. Available sunroofs and leather seating also make the interior attractive. As for the exterior, it also has modern, sleek lines. Third-party review site Edmunds praises the exterior for its “svelte styling.”

It’s clear the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica is a competitive entry among next year’s minivans.
