Car and Driver Names Four Different Jeep Models to 2015 Editors’ Picks

Each year, car magazines rank the cars they think are the best value, the safest, the most capable, and the most fun to drive. Car and Driver may well be the pinnacle of automotive news and reviews and their list this year includes four Jeep models winning in three categories.

Jeep Wrangler: Compact SUV

It may be one of the smallest on the list, but the Wrangler is unbeatable when it comes to ability and reputation. Since the dunes and dirt roads of World War II, the Wrangler has done the job. Now with 285 horsepower and four-wheel drive, it’s that much more effective.

Jeep Cherokee: Compact Crossover

Designed to give the consumer a choice, the Cherokee has had its lines smoothed and its interior upgraded. A four-cylinder or a V6 option allows for either increased MPGs, if you tend to stay on the beaten path, or more power for rugged terrain.

Jeep Grand Cherokee: Midsize SUV

With an array of power choices, you can choose anything from a V6 to the SRT, which also made the list. At a minimum of 350 horsepower, you can also choose which tailored 4WD system is best for you while the interior rides more like a luxury car.

Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT: Performance SUV

Weighing in with a massive 475 horsepower, the SRT is one of the only SUVs out there that can get from 0 to 60 in less than five seconds. The V8 is a powerhouse for performance or for hard work.

Honorable Mention: Jeep Renegade

In the subcompact SUV department, even the newly minted Renegade is getting attention. With a 160 horsepower turbo engine, the Renegade is a lot of fun and headed for greater things.
