A Guide to the Jeep Jamboree

Your Vehicle

Jeep Jamborees are open to those driving a Jeep vehicle with a 4-lo transfer case. Tow points on both the front and rear of your vehicle are also mandatory, as they facilitate vehicle recovery. Vehicles without proper tow points on both front and rear will not be allowed to participate and are not eligible for a refund. Roll bars are required for convertible or open top rigs, and a full-size spare is required as well.

All vehicles that are going to participate in a Jeep Jamboree must be street legal with compliant headlights, taillights, and a current license plate. Additional equipment, such as rock rails and under-vehicle skid plates, may be required to take part in the off-road fun on more challenging trails.

CB Radio

Besides a low range transfer case, tow points, and spares, all vehicles attending a Jeep Jamboree must have a CB radio. During the trail rides, experienced guides lead you through obstacles using the CB to communicate instructions. Also, these guides use CBs to relate interesting facts about the area you are traveling through.

Fees and Registration

The cost of attending a Jeep Jamboree varies with the region it’s held in and covers all land use, guides’ fees, and permits as well as some of the food for the weekend. Choose the “Classic” option to receive breakfast, lunch, and dinner, or choose the “Select” option and provide your own breakfast and lunch. There is no same-day registration, so book in advance to take part. Different trails will be designated for your use in order to provide plenty of opportunities for off-road challenges without taking the undue risk of getting in over your head.

Safety and Supplies

The Jeep Jamboree is an outdoor event, so pack accordingly with clothes for a range of temperatures, raingear, and full-toe footgear. Bring a cooler with your favorite snacks and beverages, but know that alcoholic beverages are not allowed on the trail. Jamboree staff do their best to prevent damage to your vehicle, but all participants must sign a waiver. Safety is a primary concern at a Jeep Jamboree, so your vehicle will be inspected prior to being allowed to hit the trail.

Jeep Jamborees are an excellent way of putting your four-wheel drive Jeep to the test, while having the support of expert guides and fellow enthusiasts. Its family atmosphere makes it a great event for the whole family to enjoy.
