The Dodge Dart's Many Awards Throughout the Years
NAIAS Editors’ Choice Award
This was the first honor that the new Dodge Dart received when it debuted at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in 2012. The model stunned attendees with its futuristic style and high-performance engine. Both the Editors’ Choice Award and Most Significant Vehicle at the NAIAS award were bestowed by Autoweek, one of the most respected publications in the industry. Other honors followed soon after as the Dart was selected as a member on the following lists:
- “Top 10 Cars of the 2012 NAIAS” from Kelley Blue Book
- “Seven Hottest New Cars at the 2012 NAIAS” from Vanity Fair
- “10 Best Interiors” from WardsAutomotive
- “Compact Car of Texas 2012” from the Texas Auto Writers Association
Most Important New Cars for 2013
The Dodge Dart’s popularity only grew the following year as it reeled in the “Most Important New Cars for 2013” distinction from the Washington Post. Improvements in the car’s design and efficiency ratings were made while the price remained affordable, which also impressed a number of other publications and reviewers. As a result, the Dart was also named as one of the “Top 10 New Cars for 2013” by Total Car Score and a finalist for “Best of the Best for 2013” by Autoweek.
One of the 10 Coolest Cars Under $18,000
Widely acknowledged as an incredible deal for drivers, the Dodge Dart was given this honor by both Consumer Guide Automotive and Kelley Blue Book’s KBB.com in 2014. This model features an MSRP of $15,995, which is truly a steal when you consider the Dart’s great technology, fuel economy, and convenient compact size.
During the same year, the Dart was also picked as one of “Eight Great American Cars to Spend a Tax Refund On” by AutoTrader.com, due in part to this affordable car’s five available trims (SE, SXT, Aero, GT, and Limited) and more than 100,000 customization options.
Top Safety Pick+
Despite its chic looks, impressive efficiency stats, and cool available tech customizations, the Dodge Dart hasn’t skimped on safety. In fact, it’s been named a “Top Safety Pick+” by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). In addition, it receives a five-star overall rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
So what makes the Dart so safe? It has a host of stellar safety features, including a 68 percent high-strength steel content ratio that’s one of the strongest in the industry. Meanwhile, more than 60 safety and security features are available for this model. Every Dart also comes with 10 standard air bags—an unusually high number in the compact car segment.
Clearly, the Dart is a winner with both drivers and auto experts. Take this exciting Dodge model for a test drive to see what all the fuss is about for yourself.
