Direct Connection Announces High-Performance MOPAR Crate Engines at SEMA

A side effect of the UAW strike was that Stellantus canceled its display at the 2023 Specialty Equipment Marketing Association (SEMA) show in Las Vegas. That meant a delay in Dodge’s reveal of a vehicle it has in mind for showing its plans for EV performance. Still, Rairdon’s Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Kirkland is pleased to announce that Dodge’s Direct Connection parts division did have some significant announcements. Proving that Dodge is not about to leave petrol performance behind, they announced the availability of the Hellephant C170 HEMI crate engine and several other high-performance crate engines previously seen in recent Dodge Challenger and Charger performance models.

The Hellephant C170 is nothing less than the same engine under the hood of the Dodge Challenger SRT 170, the capstone of the “Last Call” series of special Challengers and Chargers that just happens to be the most powerful muscle car ever sold by any manufacturer. The Hellephant C170 is a 6.2-liter Supercharged HEMI V8 that produces 1,025 horsepower and peak torque of 945 lb-ft. @ 4,200 when run on E85 ethanol blend. It is rated at 900 horsepower and 810 lb-ft of peak torque with the more commonly found E10 blend. The fully assembled Hellephant C170 includes:
