Charging Your Wrangler 4xe Outside of Scheduled Times
How to Do an Unscheduled Charge On the Jeep Wrangler 4xe
The Jeep Wrangler 4xe is a machine of plug-in hybrid beauty. Not only is the technology incredibly smart, but it also delivers the perfect blend of efficiency and performance. It’s fair to say that it’s one of our favorite vehicles here at Rairdon’s Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Kirkland (though it’s hard choosing favorites from amongst your children!).
With that in mind, we like to teach drivers and interested buyers all of the features and capabilities they can find when operating the 4xe. One nifty feature is the fact that the Wrangler 4xe can keep a schedule of charges, knowing when your scheduled charges are supposed to take place. So, what happens when you want to conduct an unscheduled charge?
Steps for Unscheduled Charging of the 4xe
If you have an opportunity to charge your Wrangler outside of the normally scheduled time, there are two different ways you can achieve this. Both begin with simply plugging the charger into the charging port. Then, you simply need to do one of the following:
- With the charger plugged in, go to your infotainment screen. You should see a prompt asking you if you’d like to charge the vehicle. Select “Yes” if you wish to do so.
- As an alternative, you can also plug the charger into the charging port, then unplug it. Then plug it back in. This signifies to the vehicle that you in fact do intend to charge your Wrangler 4xe.
There are a couple of other clever features integrated into your vehicle’s systems that can help you know that the vehicle is, in fact, charging and just how charged the vehicle is. That same infotainment screen in step 1 above also shows you how much charge the vehicle’s battery contains by percentage. For a more intricate way of determining charging status, the 4xe also has lights on the dashboard that can indicate the general charging level.
