Stellantis is Changing Electric Car Charging for the Better
What is Free2Move Charge From Stellantis?
The automotive world is slowly but surely moving toward an electric future. Despite how many advantages electric vehicles provide, there are still some roadblocks in the way of adoption for many people. Many of these roadblocks are easily overcome, but they are barriers nonetheless.
For example, one thing that can keep many people from getting an electric car is the need for better access to charging. As an electric car driver, you’ll want to have numerous options for charging up the battery, which is different from a gasoline-powered vehicle that you fill up every so often in one location – the gas station.
Of course, this will vary based on your driving needs. But many electric car drivers will want easy access to both public charging stations and at-home charging stations. Those who have a plug-in hybrid vehicle that has only 30 or so miles of fully electric range, for example, will want to be able to charge up overnight so that they can have gas-free commuting to work the next day.
How Free2Move Charge Solves These Problems
Thankfully, Stellantis is working to solve these issues. If you aren’t familiar with that name, Stellantis is the auto group that oversees Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram brands (all vehicles we sell here at Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Kirkland). Here is what Stellantis has been working on, much of which has already launched, though some features are still in development.
Home Charging – Stellantis is developing two charging variations to charge your electric vehicle at home. One is Vehicle-2-Home charging and the other is Vehicle-2-Grid charging. Some of the neat features will include touch-free wireless technology and even inductive robot charging.
Business Charging – This platform provides everything you need should you have a fleet of electric vehicles for your business. It offers support, estimation of running costs, installation, maintenance and access to public charging while your vehicles are on the go.
Charge GO – The Charge GO service connects Stellantis drivers with just about anything they need to access public charging points. Through partnerships in North America, Europe and elsewhere, drivers will be able to receive 24/7 support, reserve charging spots and enjoy loyalty program benefits. They can even order a charge to an already plugged-in vehicle at another location.
