Changes to the Dodge Hornet for 2024

The Dodge Hornet is one of the most innovative vehicles Dodge has released in decades, and considering the vehicles we’ve seen from Dodge over the past 20 years, that’s certainly saying something. But it is true.

After all, the Hornet is the very first electrified performance vehicle from the brand. On top of that, it’s a vehicle that is pushing the compact utility vehicle (CUV) segment to new heights. But that kind of innovation didn’t stop with the Hornet’s release in 2023. Dodge is still working to make the car better and better, as we can see from the changes to the Hornet for 2024.

New Hornet R/T Trim Level

The most significant change is the new R/T trim level that is available. The R/T model ups the ante with even more performance power thanks to 288 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque.

The model also has a class-exclusive PowerShot feature. You probably haven’t heard of that before (after all, it is class-exclusive), so let us explain. PowerShot utilizes the hybrid powertrain of the Hornet to boost power output, and therefore, overall vehicle performance. It does this by cranking up the horsepower by 30, which increases the 2024 Hornet R/T’s 0-60 mph time to just 5.6 seconds.

When not using PowerShot, you will also have access to three different driving modes. The first is your standard hybrid mode, but you can also opt for an all-electric mode that boasts up to 32 miles of pure electric driving or E-Save mode if you want to save battery life.

Other Things to Know About the 2024 Hornet

A couple of new features also make their way to the Hornet for 2024. These include a hands-free liftgate on the Hornet R/T Plus and GT Plus models, as well as Parallel and Perpendicular Park Assist.

No matter which Dodge Hornet trim level you choose for 2024, you’ll be able to enjoy that 32 miles of all-electric range if you wish to switch out of hybrid mode, which is made possible by a 15.5 kWh battery. To put that battery power into perspective, the Hornet boasts 77 MPGe and a total range of 360 miles.
